Instant Flood Risk Modelling (Inform) Tool for Co-Design of Flood Risk Management Strategies with Stakeholders in Can Tho City, Vietnam

Flood risk reduction strategies play an important role in flood management (FRM) and these are being co-designed with the engagement of stakeholder through multiple consultations co-designing sessions. Effective participation stakeholders interactive work sessions requires fast accurate modeling systems a user-friendly interface, which can simulate impact due to various measures selected by also generate outputs that be understood all stakeholders, especially those who not FRM specialists. Presenting easy-to-understand tool easy inputs for variety at same time providing reliable results range scenarios interventions is challenge. Seven requirements essential were used develop instant tool. This paper presents web-based hydraulic tool, i.e., model (Inform), support urban center Can Tho city (Ninh Kieu district), Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Inform was developed based on (i) simplified 1D entire Delta; (ii) hazard damage maps, estimated Ninh district obtained directly from 1D/2D coupled district. rapidly generates levels, damages.
